Lausanne’s youngest comedic stars will shine as we learn how to build exciting stories, create fascinating characters, and present them through fun improv scenes and games. Session 2 is all about jumping in, having fun, playing hard, working together and finding your voice. We’ll end session 2 with an informal sketch comedy performance for friends and family. Session 3: Behind The Scenes Center Stage will end with students getting an exclusive look into the magic that happens behind the scenes of every theatre production! Lego Robotics (5th - 8th)

August 29 - October 31

(03:30 PM - 05:00 PM)

Staff: Kim Bullard
Registration Fee: $150

In FIRST® LEGO® League, children are immersed in real-world science and technology challenges. Teams research and design their own solution to a current scientific question or problem while they also build and program autonomous robots using LEGO® MINDSTORMS® technology to perform a series of missions. Through their participation, children develop valuable life skills and discover exciting career possibilities, while learning that they can make a positive contribution to society. In an effort to ensure that Lausanne has a dedicated group of 5-10 students to represent at local competitions and qualifiers, I will be inviting a select group once we get into October. In other words, students who attend Lego Robotics Club will have to demonstrate a series of mission completions and dedication to Lego Core Values. Mrs. Bullard discovered last year that many students enjoy building and coding the Lego Robots without the pressure and added work of going to competition. Dates: Thursdays, 3:30-5:00. August 29-October 31 **Students selected for competition will continue through until local regionals (usually in January at the U of M) Please note the girls robotics team will be a spring activity and students can register for it in December.

Enrollment Window: New students are highly encouraged to register as soon as possible to ensure that each student is matched to the instructor who best meets his or her needs. Lesson days and times are awarded (when available) on a first-come basis with priority given to returning students. Early registration increases, but does not guarantee, the odds of being given your top choice of lesson day and time. Online registration for private lessons will close on Friday, August 2nd. To register after this date, please email Lauren Stallings at lstallings@lausanneschool.com. The Conservatory at Lausanne will not accept any registrations for new students after August 30, 2019. Exceptions will be made only for students who transfer to Lausanne Collegiate School mid-year. Teacher and lesson assignments for the 2019 - 2020 school year will be emailed to new students on Saturday, August 10th.
