This camp exposes campers to a variety of 2D and 3D media and develops an understanding of basic art elements and principles of design. Campers can choose their own topics and will be guided by artist Jin Powell through 2 days of 2D drawing and painting, 2 days of 3D clay sculpture, and a final day to complete their artwork in a media of their choice.

This camp is for incoming or current 5th/6th grade basketball players who are looking to take their game to the next level. Available for both boys and girls, camps will be kept to 12 players or less to ensure maximum playing time and coaching attention. Campers will work on dribbling, shooting, passing, and game play. Come get ready for the season!
Come to the advanced writing workshop to learn how to improve your writing in any subject. This class includes practical how-to steps and lots of line-by-line feedback to help students feel more comfortable and confident writing masterfully on everything from class papers to college application essays.
In this camp, it’s all things fashion! Campers will have a different fashionista activity every day, like making jewelry, headbands, lip-gloss, clothes, etc.! Students will learn skills in design, some ironing and sewing skills, nail painting, and gain an understanding of creating sustainably. We will construct clothes out of unconventional items… and show of all of our hard work during a fashion show at the end of the week!
Come race your way through the week! Similar to the TV show, campers will assemble into teams and compete with one another in a series of age-appropriate physical and mental challenges. A variety of stations will include scavenger hunt, minute to win it games, jumbo scramble, blind fold games, and much more! Get ready to race!
Lions, Tigers, Bears - oh my! Spend an exciting week exploring the animal kingdom through a crash course in zoology. We'll learn about animal behaviors and classifications through games, activities and crafts. We will make a paper mache animal mask and use beads to create a lizard keychain! On Friday, we will experience and observe our favorite animals first-hand with a trip to the Memphis Zoo!
Animal Art focuses on the beauty found in nature, from the bright and vibrant colors of the parrots to the shiny scales and textures of the reptiles. No worries, we will also look at our beloved pets that live in our homes. This camp focuses on drawing. painting, and mixed media techniques, while learning about nature and animals.
In this camp, students will have the opportunity to explore different medias under the guidance of local artist Jin Powell. Guidance for each camper will be based on previous experience, but can include foundation study in both 2D (drawing, painting) and 3D (sculpture). Students may pick one type of media or create a mixed media piece for their final creation.

Beach Party! Featuring music from the Teen Beach movies, students will feel like they are at the beach while diving into some ballet, tap, and jazz classes. Anyone with an interest in the basics of photography will enjoy this experience with Ziggy Mack! Participants will receive the opportunity to shoot a variety of content. Campers will even venture out to Shelby Farms Park for some nature photography! Throughout the week we will add images to a portfolio to send home with students.
Coach Marvis offers instruction in the fundamentals of basketball including passing, dribbling, stance and positioning. Players will learn individual and team techniques while practicing game-like scenarios in the IAC gymnasium.

We will learn the basics of reading music with an emphasis on rhythm, how to work together as an ensemble, and present what we’ve learned at a performance at the end of the week. No summer is complete without the Lausanne Olympics. Will Australia start a dynasty and win for the third year in a row or will the feisty Jamaican team finally claim victory? On Monday you will be put on a team that will be like family the rest of the week as you compete in all camp rotations. The competition ends with a cardboard boat race down on the lake and awards for the winning team!

The next James Bond secret agent could be right here at Lausanne? Flex your physical and mental muscles as you go through challenges to solve riddles and mysteries. Last summer we had to find out who stole the camp popsicles...what mystery will you be called on to solve this year?
Returning to campus is the Lausanne film festival. This week is unique in that you will work with our Counselors in Training to create a film of any topic you choose. You can rewrite a fairy tale, explore what happens when aliens land on the football field, or anything you can imagine. Parents are welcome to join us for the Lausanne film festival on Friday where we will showcase all creations and have an awards show to celebrate all our hard work!
As summer heats up, we will be cooling down at Camp Lausanne during Waterpalooza. Use water to paint in Creations, or flex your STEAM muscles as you create something that can transport water quickly from one place to another. During games we will have plenty of water balloons to go around, so make sure you bring a towel. As always, our water slide and pool will be up and running!
Students will study and learn all about dogs from grooming to training to dogs at work. We will have visits from a K-9 dog, the school therapy dog, Streetdog Foundation, and a veterinarian. We may be able to take a trip to the animal shelter (based on enrollment). Students will also research favorite breeds to present to the group. We will also make dog treats, dog toys, etc.

From simple stunts and gymnastic moves to learning to work as a group to support the team, campers of all skill levels will develop coordination, rhythm and leadership skills while using their voices to yell "GO LYNX!"

After last year's successful creation and performance of "Villains and Heroes," Choreography Creation is back for year two! Campers will experience the joy of motion as they learn and create choreography fundamentals through music exploration, prop play, improvisation, fun games, and more! There is a performance at the end of the week that is entirely created by the campers. No dance experience is necessary!

Spanish Summer camp provides a fun and relaxed environment for campers to have fun with friends while improving their language skills! Diana Quimbayo is a native professional teacher with a focus on speaking Spanish from day one with confidence! Her program is based on "listening and conversation" with play and fun learning interactions in a immersive setting; students practice as if they were in a Spanish speaking country. During class, the student will have an opportunity to practice conversation on various subjects of interest, while practicing conjugations, pronunciation and more. Classes also Include storytelling, writing, class discussions, readings, games, and other important cultural explorations that will encourage students to be actively engaged with the language.
Students will learn many things about cooking from ingredients, to measurements, to baking. Students will follow recipes, and even make up their own creations. We will put our skills to work to create masterpieces that they can enjoy at camp and take home to share.
Each day campers will learn a short dance combo (using different styles of dance) to music from recent Disney movies. The last day of camp there will be a performance for parents as a full routine.

Students will sharpen their math, logic, and reasoning skills with adrenaline-pumping excitement and teamwork. Get ready to solve mysteries, follow hidden clues, and put your Sherlock Holmes abilities to the test!
